understanding the type TGT descriptive text on the students in the class VIIIB South Junior High School Year of Lesson 1 Sangata 2010/2011. The research was conducted at South Junior High School Year of Lesson 1 Sangata
2010/2011 with research subjects VIIIB class numbered 33 students and the object of this research is the study koopertif type TGT. Data collection instrument in the form of the test results of study and observation. The test results of study carried out each end of the cycle to determine the increase in learning outcomes at the end of the cycle. These observations were carried out at each meeting and during the learning process takes place. The study consisted of two cycles where each cycle consists of four meetings with twice the learning, one game tournaments and one-time test results to learn. English teacher class VIIIB SMP Negeri 1 South Sangatta Lessons Year 2010/2011. The results showed that there are average learning results in cycle I of 54.70 and 70.30 for the second cycle resulting in an increase of 15.60. Sedangakan average teacher observation of activity in the cycle I is 79.33
sedangan the second cycle of 8.2 resulting in increased. Conclusions in this study is through learning cooperative learning outcomes type TGT english to understand the descriptive text in class VIIIB South Junior High School Year
of Lesson 1 Sangata 2010/2011 has increased.
